Musi Banyuasin — The Narcotics Unit of Musi Banyuasin Police uncovered two methamphetamine trafficking cases within a short period. From these investigations, police secured two suspects believed to be dealers with a total of 30.42 grams of methamphetamine as evidence.

In addition to the narcotics, police also discovered an improvised firearm along with several rounds of ammunition from one of the suspects.

Musi Banyuasin Police Chief AKBP Ruri Prastowo stated that the case disclosure resulted from investigations by officers following information received from the public.

“From the two cases uncovered by the Narcotics Unit just before Operation Ketupat Musi 2026, the total methamphetamine evidence secured reached 30.42 grams involving two suspects believed to be dealers,” he said on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

Ruri explained that the first case occurred on Wednesday, 11 March at approximately 20:00 Western Indonesia Time in front of a barracks in Hamlet I, Keban Village, Sanga Desa District, Musi Banyuasin Regency.

During the arrest, officers secured suspect Ari Wibowo (27), a resident of Keban II Village, Sanga Desa District.

“During the search, officers found 12 packets of methamphetamine weighing 2.23 grams stored in used mosquito repellent plastic packaging. The second case disclosure then occurred on Thursday, 12 March at approximately 03:00 Western Indonesia Time at a shelter located on HGU land belonging to PT Hindoli, Tanjung Dalam Village, Keluang District, Musi Banyuasin Regency,” Ruri said.

In the second case, police arrested suspect Ampiri (42), a resident of Prabu Menang Village, North Penukal District, PALI Regency.

“From the suspect’s possession, officers found 7 packets of methamphetamine with a gross weight of 28.19 grams stored in a bag and wrapped in tissue. Police also secured cash totalling 7 million rupiah as well as one mobile telephone,” he said.

Additionally, from suspect Ampiri, police seized one improvised firearm, a cylinder-type pistol containing four bullets.

“Our officers also confiscated the firearm from suspect Ampiri and various other ammunition, namely eight rounds of 5.56 mm calibre bullets, seven spent 5.56 mm calibre cartridges, one round of 7.65 mm calibre bullet, as well as five small-calibre rounds,” he stated.

Both suspects are currently being held at Musi Banyuasin Police Station for further investigation.
