Two methamphetamine dealers from Karang Bagu, Karang Taliwang Village, Cakranegara District, Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), were arrested by police. The suspects are identified as SR (51) and MRSP (18).

“We secured the two suspected dealers in one of the alleys in Karang Bagu Village, Karang Taliwang,” said the Head of the Narcotics Unit of the Mataram Police, AKP I Gusti Ngurah Bagus Suputra, on Tuesday (February 24, 2026).

Both suspects were arrested on Tuesday (February 24, 2026), at around 00:30 local time. The first suspect arrested was SR.

“During the search, we found dozens of packets of methamphetamine ready for distribution, a mobile phone, and money suspected to be from transactions, in his pants pocket,” he said.

Suputra revealed that SR is a repeat offender. He was previously arrested and convicted of a drug-related crime several years ago.

“After being released from prison, he turned out to be involved in drug trafficking again,” he said.

After securing SR, officers arrested the other suspect, MRSP. During the search, police found six packets of methamphetamine, a mobile phone, and Rp 3.6 million in cash.

“We suspect that the money is from methamphetamine transactions,” said Suputra.

From the arrest of both suspects, the police seized 8.54 grams of methamphetamine. Currently, both suspects are being held at the Mataram Police Station.

“Currently, further investigation and tracing of the origin of the methamphetamine are underway,” Suputra said.

NTB Police Arrests Banten Resident

The NTB Police Narcotics Directorate secured a man with the initials MT, a resident of Pondok Kacang Timur, Pondok Aren District, South Tangerang City, Banten. Police confiscated 79.321 grams of methamphetamine from the arrest.

The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Mohammad Kholid, said that MT was arrested in front of a modern retail store on Jalan Pejanggik, Cakranegara Barat Village, Mataram City.

“When secured, officers found 79.321 grams of methamphetamine stored in the suspect’s jacket pocket,” said Kholid, on Tuesday.

In addition to the methamphetamine, during the arrest which took place on Thursday (February 19, 2026), officers also confiscated the suspect’s mobile phone and motorcycle.

“The motorcycle was used by the suspect when he was at the location,” he said.

The arrest of MT was based on information from the public. The area on Jalan Pejanggik is often used as a place for methamphetamine transactions.

“Currently, the handling of the case has been elevated to the investigation stage based on the results of the case review,” said Kholid.

According to Kholid, the suspect’s actions met the elements of Article 114 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics in conjunction with Article 609 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.

“Investigators are currently conducting further investigation, including tracing the possibility of involvement of a wider network in the case,” Kholid concluded.
