Police Arrest Three Teenagers Planning Gang Fight During East Jakarta Birthday Celebration

Metro Jaya Police secured three teenagers suspected of planning a gang fight. The three were apprehended whilst searching for rivals in the Cilangkap area of East Jakarta.

The Director of Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Brigadier General Wahyu Dwi Ariwibowo, stated that the three were detained during routine territorial patrols conducted on Saturday, 14 March in the early morning hours. The patrols involved the 3P Patrol Team, City Patrol, Monitoring Patrol, K9 Unit and female police officers.

“The 3P team stopped three suspicious youths. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the three youths were scouting the situation (checking the waters) to see whether police were in the vicinity, and it was found that the three teenagers were searching for rivals,” Brigadier General Dwi Ari stated on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

During interrogation, the three were found to be members of a gang that was celebrating their gang’s birthday party. Police subsequently proceeded to the party venue and discovered sharp weapons and various types of alcoholic beverages.

“After investigating the companions of the three teenagers, it was found they were holding a birthday party for a gang under the name @Blaster14Maret. The team then traced the gathering place of the @Blaster14Maret gang and found 15 people celebrating with alcoholic beverages,” he said.

Three teenagers with the initials JR (15), AFI (17) and BP (19) were detained for possession of sharp weapons. They were subsequently taken to Cipayung Police Station for further processing.

“The team interrogated the three teenagers initially and found them in possession of two sharp weapons. The three youths were brought to Cipayung Police Station and 15 teenagers were taken to Ciracas Police Station for further investigation,” he explained.
