Police Arrest Three Suspects in Teenage Stabbing at Cibodas Flyover
TANGERANG — Police have arrested three suspects in a stabbing attack on two teenagers at Cibodas Flyover in Tangerang City, Banten. The three suspects, identified as MH, DP, and GR, were apprehended following intensive investigations by the Tangerang City Metropolitan Police.
Tangerang City Metropolitan Police Chief Raden Muhammad Jauhari stated that the arrests were made after police reviewed CCTV footage and traced the suspects’ escape route following the incident, which went viral on social media.
“We will not tolerate street violence and motorcycle gangs that disturb public safety. All involved suspects will be dealt with strictly according to the law,” Jauhari said in Tangerang on Sunday, 24 May 2026.
The stabbing occurred on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, around 1:00 AM WIB. The victims, Syarif Hidayat and Dimas Ramdani, were riding motorcycles after travelling from Jakarta to Tangerang.
According to police, the victims had a dispute with another group of motorcyclists in the Cimone area. Despite attempting to evade, they were chased to Cibodas Flyover.
Upon arrival at the scene, the suspects, riding two motorcycles, attacked the victims with bladed weapons. One victim sustained six stab wounds on the back and thigh, while the other suffered severe back injuries requiring intensive hospital treatment.
After receiving the report, officers from Jatiuwung Police Station and the Tangerang City Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation Unit processed the crime scene and traced CCTV footage along the suspects’ escape route.
Investigations revealed the suspects originated from Pasar Kemis to Serang areas. Police conducted a raid in the early hours of Friday, 22 May 2026, arresting three suspects at different locations.
Police seized evidence including a Yamaha Vixion motorcycle, celurit (curved knife), helmets, clothing worn during the incident, and mobile phones from the suspects.
Initial findings indicate the attack was triggered by a minor road dispute. One suspect claimed to have been offended by the victims’ attention. Police also discovered the suspects attempted to steal the victims’ belongings, including motorcycle keys and mobile phones, but failed.
Authorities confirmed they are still hunting other suspects allegedly involved in the brutal attack, including the alleged mastermind.
