Metropolitan Jakarta Central Police arrested three illegal drug sellers in Central Jakarta (Jakpus), seizing 1,802 tablets. The operation took place on Wednesday (27 May) evening at three locations: Jalan KS Tubun IV Petamburan, Jalan Jati Baru Raya Kampung Bali, and a shop on Jalan Lontar in Kebon Kacang, Tanah Abang. The case was initiated following public reports of rampant illegal drug distribution in Tanah Abang.

‘Receiving public information, the Narcotics Unit of Metropolitan Jakarta Central Police conducted investigations and operations at suspected locations for illegal hard drug distribution. As a result, we secured three individuals along with thousands of tablets as evidence,’ stated Police Chief of Metropolitan Jakarta Central, Kombes Reynold, on Thursday (28 May 2026).

During the raid, police seized various hard drugs including Hexymer, Tramadol, Trihexyphenidyl, Xanax, Dumolid, Alprazolam, and Double Y pills. Additionally, they confiscated Rp 218,000 suspected to be proceeds from the illegal drug sales.

‘The three suspects, identified as A (38), RAD (33), and K (43), are currently undergoing intensive questioning at the Narcotics Unit of Metropolitan Jakarta Central Police,’ he added.

Reynold emphasised the force’s commitment to eradicating illegal hard drug distribution that disturbs the public and risks damaging the younger generation. He urged the public to report suspicious activities related to narcotics or illegal drugs without hesitation.

‘We are committed to strictly addressing all forms of illegal drug distribution within the jurisdiction of Metropolitan Jakarta Central Police. Investigators are currently expanding the case to uncover the supply network and distribution channels,’ he said.

‘Public cooperation is vital. If any criminal activity or illegal drug distribution is observed, please report immediately via Call Centre 110 for prompt action by officers,’ Reynold added.

The suspects face charges under Article 435, subsidiary Article 436(2) of Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health, as amended by Law No. 1 of 2026 on penalty adjustments.
