Police Arrest Three Following Clash and Mob Siege of Menteng Police Station

Central Jakarta Metro Police are intensively questioning three individuals with the initials S, T, and U following a clash on Jalan Tambak in the Menteng district on Sunday. The suspects were detained to help investigators uncover the cause and chronology of the incident. Kapolrestro Jakpus Kombes Reynold EP Hutagalung stated that the three are currently undergoing intensive examination at the Menteng Metro Police station to determine the origins of the event. In addition to examining the trio, investigators are also probing the suspected involvement of other parties who may have triggered the clash. Reynold noted that overall, police have detained approximately 15 people for intensive questioning. They are being examined in groups based on the sequence of events that occurred in the Matraman and Jalan Tambak areas. Investigators are also examining victims and witnesses, including looking into the alleged destruction of carts belonging to micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) and suspected assaults on residents during the clash. The investigation is ongoing to fully uncover the cause of the clash and the roles of each party involved, based on the evidence collected. Reynold emphasised that those identified as victims or perpetrators must be held accountable for their actions.
