Police Arrest Taufik Hidayat in Majalaya, Bandung
The West Java Regional Police (Polda Jawa Barat) have arrested Taufik Hidayat, a suspect in the assault and unlawful confinement case against Yuvita Tri Rezeki in Bandung Regency. The arrest was made after the perpetrator was placed on a wanted list (DPO).
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi announced the arrest via his social media account. The suspect was apprehended in the Majalaya area of Bandung Regency on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
Head of Public Relations for the West Java Police, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, confirmed the arrest. According to him, investigators successfully secured the suspect within the jurisdiction of the Bandung Resort Police.
“The West Java Police arrested the perpetrator of the assault and confinement, Taufik Hidayat, in the Bandung Resort Police jurisdiction, precisely in Majalaya,” Hendra said on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi expressed appreciation for the swift action taken by the police in apprehending the perpetrator. He conveyed his gratitude to the West Java Police force for their work in handling the case.
“On behalf of the people of West Java, on behalf of humanity, on behalf of law enforcement, and on behalf of our conscience, we extend our highest gratitude and appreciation to the West Java Police Chief and all personnel who swiftly arrested the perpetrator Taufik Hidayat in Majalaya,” Dedi stated.
Dedi expressed hope that the legal process would proceed in accordance with applicable regulations and that the perpetrator would be held accountable for his actions.
“May Taufik Hidayat receive a punishment commensurate with his actions that violated the boundaries of humanity,” Dedi said.
Previously, the West Java Police had named Taufik Hidayat as a suspect in the assault and confinement case against Yuvita Tri Rezeki. The case drew public attention after the victim was found to have sustained severe injuries and visual impairment leading to blindness.
The victim is currently undergoing intensive care at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung. Police are continuing to investigate the case to complete the inquiry process and uncover the full sequence of events that occurred.
