Police Arrest Suspect in Cikarang Case of Girlfriend's Confinement and Assault

Police are investigating the case of a woman found with facial injuries, allegedly assaulted and confined by her boyfriend in Cikarang, West Java. In this case, which mirrors a similar incident involving a man named Taufik Hidayat in Bandung, there are two suspected perpetrators. One suspect has been arrested, while the other remains at large.

“There are two perpetrators, one has been secured,” said Kasat Reskrim Polres Metro Bekasi AKBP Jerico Chandra on Tuesday (14/7), as quoted by detikcom. “The other is still being pursued.”

No further information has been released regarding the roles of the two suspects. Police are continuing their investigation and the search for the remaining fugitive. A video previously went viral showing the victim’s body covered in bruises, with her face appearing injured, allegedly from a beating.

According to the video’s narration, the victim was abused by her boyfriend in North Cikarang, Bekasi. The incident was uncovered on Wednesday (8/7) when the victim’s family visited the location. They found her covered in bruises, but the perpetrator had already fled. The family immediately reported the incident to the Bekasi Metro Police.

Jerico stated that the victim and the perpetrator were in a romantic relationship. Police are currently investigating the alleged confinement. “The relationship between them is boyfriend and girlfriend. We are investigating the confinement,” he said. This case is reminiscent of the Taufik Hidayat case in Bandung, West Java, where the perpetrator confined and abused his girlfriend, YTR, for an alleged three years before it was uncovered. Taufik has been arrested and is being processed legally.
