Police have arrested the perpetrator of a brawl that killed a 16-year-old MTs student (previously reported as 15) in Dramaga District, Bogor, West Java. The suspect, also a 16-year-old student, was arrested on 29 May, according to Dramaga Police Chief AKP AM Zalukhu, who announced the case resolution on 30 May 2026. Evidence seized included a 50cm celurit, the victim’s shirt, and trousers.

Zalukhu appealed to the public, particularly parents, to enhance vigilance over children to prevent recurrence. “School-related violence resulting in stabbings is deeply concerning and must not be normalised. Family involvement is vital in shaping children’s character, ethics, and emotional regulation,” he said.

The deadly brawl between student groups occurred on the Dramaga Ring Road on 17 April. Police responded to the scene and dispersed the two student groups. During a search, the victim was found lying in a rice field near the brawl site. Footage circulating online showed locals assisting the victim and evacuating him using a sarong, carrying him through fields and undergrowth. The victim, identified as SP, aged 15, was an MTs student.
