Mobile Brigade Corps of Jakarta Metropolitan Police conducted patrols across several areas last night, resulting in the apprehension of teenagers involved in potential riots and street racing.

Commissioner Henik Maryanto, Head of the Mobile Brigade Corps, stated that nightly patrols are routinely conducted as a preventive measure against criminal acts and riots to ensure public safety. ‘Nightly patrols are carried out to anticipate disturbances in public order, including youth-related riots,’ he told reporters on Sunday (31/6/2026).

Three teenagers attempting street racing were detained on Haji Nausan Street in Bekasi, with their motorcycles taken for further investigation. Seven individuals armed with bladed weapons were apprehended in Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, suspected of planning a riot. Police also arrested one person in Cilincing suspected of intending to riot.

Officers subsequently took the youths and evidence for further questioning. Additionally, five intoxicated teenagers were detained during a patrol in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, where alcohol bottles were found. Besides conducting raids, officers provided dialogical education to residents and motorcyclists in the Ondel-Ondel Statue area on Benyamin Sueb Street.
