Police are also still pursuing another suspect, identified as IY, who is an associate of the offender. The suspects allegedly collaborated in the theft and assault.
“One more, with the initials IY, is still being sought. He jointly carried out the theft with violence alongside suspect DR,” he stated.

Chronology
The incident occurred on Monday (8/6/2026) at 01:00 WIB on Jalan Raya Bogor Km 35, Sukamaju Baru, Tapos, Depok City. The two suspects initially intended to commit a burglary.
Upon arriving at the victim’s house, DR entered by climbing over the fence. He then reached in and unlocked the door from the inside.
“So his hand went in and then he unlocked the door, as the key was still hanging in the lock,” Jupriono explained.
Once the door was open, suspect DR entered the house while IY stood guard outside. DR searched for valuables inside the house.
“One of the items he managed to take was a mobile phone. Then, after securing the phone, suspect DR saw a machete on display in the house and took it, intending to use it for protection,” he clarified.
DR continued to search for other items in the house and entered one of the rooms. It turned out the victim was not yet asleep.
“So the occupant screamed, and at that moment suspect DR was already holding the machete, resulting in violence against the victim,” he said.
Due to the victim’s screams, the victim’s mother woke up and tried to fend off the perpetrator. However, the mother was slashed by DR using the machete he had stolen from inside the house.
“After injuring the two individuals, the perpetrator or suspect DR fled, taking the proceeds of his crime, namely the victim’s mobile phone,” he revealed.
Jupriono stated that as a result of the incident, the victim suffered injuries to her cheek and head. Meanwhile, the victim’s mother sustained injuries to her hand, with a finger nearly severed.
“Alhamdulillah, after receiving treatment at the hospital for approximately three days, they have now been able to return home,” he concluded.
