Police arrest oil adulterators

SURABAYA, East Java: Police have arrested six people in the
southern suburb of Sidoarjo for adulterating lubricant oil.

Chief of the Sidoarjo police precinct Lt. Col. Soeharto said
the suspects were arrested in a raid early this week in which
they also seized thousands of cans of diluted oil.

"We will launch more operations to bust the syndicate," he
told Antara.

He said among those arrested was the man the police believed
was the ring leader, identified only as Dar, and that the
suspects would be brought to trial soon.

The police will cooperate with the state-owned oil company
Pertamina, the local industry office and the prosecutors office
to apprehend those responsible. (pan)
