Police arrest man for repeated assault of girlfriend in Bekasi

Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police have arrested a man with the initials HSLT, suspected of repeatedly assaulting his girlfriend in South Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained that the suspect is currently undergoing intensive examination by investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Metro Bekasi Police. “It is true, the main perpetrator with the initials HSLT has been arrested and is currently undergoing intensive examination by investigators,” Budi said when confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday. However, Budi has not yet provided more detailed information regarding the chronology, exact location, or motive behind the abuse as the examination process is still ongoing. “Further developments regarding the handling of this abuse case in Cikarang are scheduled to be presented in detail during an official press conference at the Metro Bekasi Police headquarters on Monday (20/7),” he said. The case began with a report from the victim, a woman with the initials TS, who came to the Metro Bekasi Police headquarters with bruising on her face and hands. “These injuries were allegedly the result of physical violence committed repeatedly by HSLT from 29 June to 8 July 2026,” Budi stated.
