Police Arrest Man Carrying Shabu During West Jakarta Dawn Patrol

Police conducted a dawn patrol to maintain security in West Jakarta (Jakbar), during which an individual was apprehended for allegedly carrying the narcotic shabu.

“During the operation, officers found a man suspected of carrying shabu during the raid,” said Head of Operations for West Jakarta Metropolitan Police, AKBP Tri Bayu Nugroho, on Monday (1/6/2026).

The patrol took place between 12:30 AM and 3:00 AM WIB. He stated that 46 joint personnel were deployed for the operation.

“Mobile patrols covered several high-risk roads prone to public order disturbances and street crimes, including Daan Mogot, Grogol, Tomang, Slipi, Kembangan, Cengkareng, Tubagus Angke, Hayam Wuruk, and Gajah Mada areas,” he added.

In addition to patrols, authorities conducted a raid along Kemanggisan Raya Street in Palmerah, West Jakarta. The operation targeted street criminals, illegal weapons possession, drug abuse, and other public order disturbances.

“The suspect was detained for further investigation by investigators to probe the alleged narcotics-related crime,” he said.

The patrols will continue to prevent street crimes, especially during high-risk hours.

“We will continue to enhance patrols and raids during vulnerable hours to anticipate potential public order disturbances,” he concluded.
