Police Arrest Man Carrying Methamphetamine During West Jakarta Night Patrol

The West Jakarta Metro Police conducted a joint patrol and stationary raid in the West Jakarta area, resulting in the arrest of a man carrying methamphetamine. The operation, carried out with the Polda Metro Jaya Mobile Brigade (Brimob), took place from 00:30 to 03:30 WIB on Wednesday (8/7/2026), covering the jurisdiction of the West Jakarta Metro Police. “We detained one person found carrying a packet of methamphetamine,” said Tamansari Police Deputy Chief Commissioner Rusyadi in a statement on Wednesday. The suspect was apprehended during a joint stationary raid in the Kapuk area, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, and has been transferred to the West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit for further investigation. Rusyadi explained that the mobile patrol and stationary raid were intended to anticipate various forms of street crime and to provide a sense of security to residents who are active late at night and into the early hours. “During the operation, officers conducted selective checks on suspicious motorists, including verifying identity documents and inspecting belongings, as a preventive measure to deter criminal acts and drug distribution,” he concluded.
