Police Arrest Man Carrying Methamphetamine During West Jakarta Night Patrol

West Jakarta Metro Police conducted joint patrols and stationary raids across the West Jakarta area. During the patrol, police arrested a man found carrying narcotics in the form of crystal methamphetamine (sabu).

The joint patrol was carried out alongside Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, involving stationary raids between 00:30 and 03:30 WIB on Wednesday (8/7/2026), sweeping through the West Jakarta Metro Police jurisdiction.

“We secured one individual who was found carrying one package of crystal methamphetamine,” stated the Deputy Chief of Tamansari Metro Police, Commissioner Rusyadi, in his statement on Wednesday (8/7/2026).

The suspect was apprehended during a joint stationary raid in the Kapuk, Cengkareng area of West Jakarta. The individual has been taken to the West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit for further investigation.

Rusyadi explained that the mobile patrols and stationary raids are intended to anticipate various forms of street crime and to provide a sense of security to members of the public who remain active from late night until the early hours of the morning.

“During the operation, officers conducted selective inspections of suspicious motorists, including checking identification documents and belongings. This serves as a preventive measure to prevent criminal acts and the circulation of narcotics,” he concluded.
