“During the inspection, officers discovered six Tramadol and six Hexymer tablets in the individual’s possession,” said Tamansari Police Chief Kompol Bobby M. Zulfikar when confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday.
Bobby stated that the joint patrol targeted street crime, drug abuse, and the possession of sharp weapons or other prohibited items. The operation took place from 1:00 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. local time in front of the Worcas Group building, where officers inspected passing motorists.
“These routine checks are carried out to prevent street crime, narcotics abuse, the circulation of prescription drugs without a permit, and other potential security disturbances,” Bobby said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Tamansari Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Egy Irwansyah, explained that the seized drugs belong to the List G category of pharmaceuticals, which are subject to strict regulations and can only be obtained with a prescription under the supervision of authorised medical professionals.
“We urge the public, especially the younger generation, not to consume or trade prescription drugs without a permit, as it can have serious health consequences and may violate the law,” he said.
