Madiun (ANTARA) — The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Madiun Police Resort has arrested an alleged member of Satpol PP Kota Madiun suspected of fraud by promising admission to the Politeknik Perkeretaapian Indonesia (PPI) Madiun, resulting in losses of Rp150 million for the victim.

According to AKP Agus Andi Anto Prabowo, head of the Madiun Police Resort’s Criminal Investigation Unit, the suspect, identified by the initials HA, used the name of local officials to persuade the victim.

‘The case is under investigation and has now progressed to the investigative stage for further examination,’ he told reporters.

He explained that the case began with a report from the victim identified as SP, a resident of Saradan Sub-district, Madiun Regency. SP claimed that HA said he could help his child gain admission to the Politeknik Perkeretaapian Indonesia Madiun in June 2025.

The suspect claimed to have close ties with Maidi, who served as Mayor of Madiun from 2019 to 2024, and promised the cadet’s admission through a special route.

At that time, the suspect offered three remaining quotas under the special entry route for a payment of Rp300 million. The victim subsequently paid an upfront Rp150 million in instalments by transfer and cash.

To reassure the victim, the suspect allegedly provided receipts listing a name and signature claimed to belong to the regional head.

However, even after paying hundreds of millions, the victim’s child was still not successful in the PPI Madiun cadet selection process. Feeling aggrieved, the victim reported the incident to the Madiun Police Resort.

Meanwhile, Agus Purwo Widagdo, head of Satpol PP and Damkar Kota Madiun, confirmed that HA was a member of the agency. However, HA was not a civil servant (PNS) but a part-time employee.

‘Yes, his name is Henri. Not a PNS, but a part-time worker,’ Agus said.

Regarding the case, the authorities have processed HA’s removal from his position in Satpol PP and Damkar Kota Madiun without tolerance. He said that any breach of law by officers would be dealt with firmly.

‘In any case, if there is a violation I will dismiss him immediately. No more warning letters or the like. If he breaches, he will be dismissed immediately,’ he added.

Regarding the ongoing legal process, the authorities have left it entirely to the police. Agus also reminded all Satpol PP and Damkar Kota Madiun personnel to refrain from legal violations, whether disciplinary or criminal.
