Police Arrest Killer of Elderly Man in Cianjur for Stealing Two Labu Siam (Chayotes)

The Criminal Investigation Unit of Cugenang Police Sector said that Ujang Ahmad, the suspect in the fatal assault on a man identified as M, 56, over the theft of two labu siam from his garden, has been secured. It is known that the suspect and the victim were neighbours. ‘We have secured the suspect and he is currently being interrogated,’ said Cugenang Police Chief, Kompol Usep Nurdin. He stated that the suspect assaulted the victim on Saturday, 28 February 2026, in front of the victim’s house in Kampung Bayabang, Desa Talaga, Kecamatan Cugenang, Kabupaten Cianjur. The assault was carried out with bare hands. ‘The suspect punched the victim and kicked him, resulting in bruising around the eyes, head injuries, a wound on the neck, bruising on the shoulder and arm, a bloody nose, and vomiting,’ he added. He said the assault stemmed from the belief that the victim had stolen two labu siam from his own garden. The victim reportedly tried to flee to his house and was chased by the suspect until the assault took place.
