Police Arrest Illegal Narcotics Dealer in Bogor, Seize Thousands of Tramadol Pills

Police have arrested a man suspected of distributing illegal prescription drugs in Klapanunggal, Bogor, West Java. Officers also seized thousands of pills from the suspect. “Klapanunggal Police Sector personnel successfully uncovered a case involving the large-scale distribution of illegal prescription drugs,” said Klapanunggal Police Chief Iptu Asep Saifurrohman to reporters on Tuesday (7/4/2026). The arrest took place in the afternoon around 14:30 WIB. It stemmed from a report from the public. “Based on that information, officers immediately conducted an investigation and intensive surveillance at the location suspected to be a transaction point,” he explained. Police then grew suspicious of a man who had stopped in Desa Nambo. The man was subsequently secured by police officers. “During the search, officers found hundreds of illegal prescription drug pills of the tramadol and trihexyphenidyl types, which are strongly suspected to be intended for distribution,” he revealed. The suspect and evidence were then taken to the police station for further investigation. A search was also conducted at the man’s home, where hundreds more illegal prescription drugs were found. “Officers proceeded to the suspect’s residence in the Gunung Putri area and again discovered hundreds of illegal prescription drugs stored in a room, strengthening suspicions of organised illegal drug distribution activities,” he stated. Police secured evidence including a motorcycle, mobile phone, 1,730 tramadol pills, 150 trihexyphenidyl pills, and Rp 470,000 in cash suspected to be proceeds from sales. “The suspect has been secured and will be processed according to applicable law. The case handling will subsequently be transferred to the Bogor Police Resort Narcotics Unit for further development,” he said.
