Police Arrest Husband and Wife Operating Online Gambling Website in North Jakarta

JAKARTA - A husband-and-wife pair, NF alias I (23) and SPP (26), were arrested by police after being found to operate an online gambling (judol) website. The Head of Unit V of the Subdirectorate of Mobile Brigade of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police, AKP Arief Rizky Wicaksana, stated that their activities were uncovered during a cyber patrol. Police initially discovered the Mantracuan website suspected of offering gambling games. “The team obtained information regarding the buying and selling of bank accounts subsequently used for operating the online gambling website Mantracuan,” Arief said in a written statement on Wednesday (29/4/2026). Based on tracing and identification, the two suspects were located at the Teluk Intan Tower Sapphire Apartment, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. They were immediately apprehended on Friday (17/4/2026). They admitted to roles in telemarketing for this judol website. Police also seized evidence in the form of one laptop, four mobile phones, and four ATM cards. Now, I and SPP are secured at the Metro Jaya Police Detention Centre for further investigation. The pair are charged under Article 426 of the Criminal Code on Gambling, Article 45 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (2) of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, or Article 607 paragraph (1) letters a, b, and c of the Criminal Code on Money Laundering Crimes (TPPU).
