North Kuta Police Sector (Polsek Kuta Utara) arrested a motorcycle thief identified as UBN at a villa in the Umalas area, Kerobokan Kelod, Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali. UBN stole two motorcycles from the villa together with two accomplices who are still at large.

‘We have secured a man from Sumba who is strongly suspected of being the perpetrator of stealing two motorcycles. Currently the team is still pursuing two other suspects with initials A and A who are at large,’ said Kuta Utara Police Chief Kompol I Ketut Agus Pasek Sudina, on Sunday (8/3/2026).

The arrest followed a report by a French tourist identified as KCAM who lost two motorcycles from his villa’s parking area. The theft on Jalan Umalas No. 84 A occurred on Friday 30 January 2026 at around 03:05 WITA.

‘The victim reported the loss of two Honda Scoopy motorcycles parked in the villa courtyard with the handlebars unlocked. Based on the report, the team led by Reskrim Unit Chief Iptu Annas Yoga Wicaksana immediately conducted a crime scene analysis and checked CCTV footage,’ Agus Pasek said.

Analysis of CCTV along Jalan Umalas identified three suspicious men during the incident. After an intensive investigation, officers located UBN and brought him to the police station for interrogation.

The suspect confessed to the offence and said the act was conducted with his two friends by pushing the motorcycles from the rear in turn. They exploited the victim’s negligence in leaving the motorcycles parked with unlocked handlebars.

During questioning, UBN said this was his first offence and he had no prior prison term. The stolen motorcycles were not intended for sale but would be used for daily transport.

The stolen units were Scoopy motorcycles: a black-red Scoopy with registration number DK 3844 FL and a black-silver Scoopy with registration number DK 4852 FCX, belonging to witness Made Suwanjana. Total losses suffered by the victims amount to Rp 31 million, Agus Pasek said.

Police have secured evidence in the form of one Scoopy motorcycle belonging to the victim registered under Ni Made Sudarmi. For his actions, the suspect is charged under Article 477 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP).
