Police Arrest Fredy Pratama's Right-Hand Man in Malaysia

The Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim Polri) has arrested Frans Antony, the right-hand man of drug kingpin Fredy Pratama, in Malaysia. Besides managing the financial proceeds from Fredy’s illicit drug business, Frans was also actively distributing narcotics in Indonesia.

“Frans Antony is not an ordinary perpetrator, but the financial controller, field controller, and operational controller of the narcotics syndicate led by Fredy Pratama,” said Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Drug Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, to reporters on Friday (19/6/2026).

“Frans Antony is also strongly suspected of assisting Fredy Pratama in the distribution of narcotics in Indonesia,” he continued.

Eko stated that the drugs distributed by Frans are believed to have originated from Malaysia and Thailand. The illicit goods entered Indonesia through illegal routes. “These narcotics are strongly suspected to have entered from Malaysia and Thailand via illegal sea and land routes,” Eko revealed.

The quantity of drugs distributed by Frans was staggering. Each month, the syndicate could ship up to 500 kg. “Every month, this syndicate is capable of smuggling all types of narcotics in quantities ranging from 100 kg to 500 kg,” he concluded.

Eko also conveyed that Frans frequently moved between locations in Thailand. This tactic was suspected to be an effort to evade pursuit by officers. “Frans Antony fled by moving from place to place in Thailand,” said Eko.

Eko stated that Frans was assisted in his movements by an associate of Fredy Pratama who is a Thai national. Frans was last believed to have resided in the Narasiri region for two years. “During his flight, Frans Antony was assisted by an associate of Fredy Pratama, a Thai national. Frans Antony moved between places, starting from the Phatthanakan area until finally settling for approximately two years in the Narasiri area, Thailand,” Eko said.

Frans’s flight ended in Malaysia. Eko stated that Frans entered Malaysian territory illegally.

Frans Antony and Fredy Pratama were friends during high school in South Kalimantan. Fredy Pratama started his illicit business in Malang, East Java. “Frans Antony is Fredy Pratama’s closest associate and they attended the same high school in South Kalimantan. Fredy started and controlled the initial drug network from Malang,” he added.

Frans Antony is currently at the Bareskrim Polri building in Jakarta after being flown in from Malaysia. Frans is undergoing further examination, while Fredy remains a fugitive.
