Metropolitan Jakarta Police’s Brimob unit thwarted a planned brawl in Kalimalang, Bekasi City, West Java. Four teenagers and evidence including celurit, golok, golf clubs, and motor vehicles were seized by police.

The patrol was conducted by the 2nd Company of the D Pelopor Battalion of the Metropolitan Jakarta Police’s Brimob unit early Wednesday (27 May 2026). Officers swept high-risk areas including Harapan Indah Main Road, Sultan Agung Street, Juanda Street, and the Kalimalang area.

The patrol was conducted in collaboration with the Bekasi Barat Police Station to strengthen security during high-risk nighttime hours. Zonal patrols focused on anticipating public order disturbances such as teenage brawls, robbery attempts, street racing, and three-C crimes across major roads and high-risk zones in Bekasi City.

During the patrol, officers discovered a group of teenagers suspected of planning a brawl in the Professor Mochamad Yamin Street area. Police swiftly pursued and apprehended four teenagers, along with evidence consisting of three celurit, one golok, one golf club, and three motor vehicles.

The teenagers and evidence were taken to Bekasi City Metropolitan Police Station for further handling by relevant authorities. Brimob Commandant of the Metropolitan Jakarta Police, Kombes Henik Maryanto, stated that routine patrols would continue to be intensified to create a safe, comfortable, and conducive environment for the public.

Kombes Henik explained that the presence of D Pelopor Battalion personnel on the ground reflects the police’s commitment to ensuring public safety and preventing potential security threats at an early stage. In addition to anti-brawl patrols, Brimob personnel also monitor locations frequently used for street racing and where teenagers gather late into the night.

“The presence of police officers on the ground is expected to have a preventive effect and boost public confidence in efforts to maintain security in Bekasi City,” said Kombes Henik in a statement.

Residents are urged to help maintain community safety and avoid activities that could disrupt public order. Should they encounter criminal activity or public order disturbances, citizens can immediately contact the 24-hour police hotline at 110 to report incidents and complaints.
