Police Arrest Five Students Planning a Brawl in Bogor, Machete Seized

Police arrested five students on Jalan Raya Bojong Nangka, Gunung Putri District, Bogor, West Java. The students were suspected of preparing to stage a brawl.

“The incident began when the police received information from members of the public about a group of students suspected of planning to carry out a brawl in the area,” said the Head of Gunung Putri Police, Police Commissioner Hillal Adi Himawan, on Tuesday (8/9/2026).

The incident occurred on Monday (7/9). Following up on the information from the public, officers immediately moved to the location where the students had gathered.

“Thanks to the officers’ rapid response and the public’s vigilance, five students were secured before the brawl could take place,” he explained.

The five students were aged 17, 14, 14, 15 and 13 respectively. A sharp weapon in the form of a machete was also seized from the students.

“During the operation, officers also found a number of items believed to be connected to the incident, namely one machete, one mobile phone and two motorcycles,” he added.

The five students were then taken to the police station for further questioning. They were also asked to give statements regarding the incident.

“We call on parents, schools and the wider community to work together to supervise and educate children so they do not become involved in brawls. Their futures must not be ruined simply because they followed others in actions that could endanger themselves and others,” he concluded.
