Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Brimob Patrol Team of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, alongside the Presisi Pioneer Team of the East Jakarta Metro Police, arrested eight youths attempting to engage in a brawl on Jalan Raya Bogor, Susukan Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta, in the early hours of Saturday.

Commander of the Brimob Unit of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto, explained that during the operation, officers secured the eight youths after pursuing a group of teenagers suspected of intending to participate in a brawl.

“A woman present at the location was also taken to the police station for questioning,” he stated in a briefing in Jakarta on Saturday.

He explained that prior to the intervention in Ciracas, the patrol team had first dispersed a group of youths suspected of organising illegal street racing in the Jalan Taman Mini area.

“Officers also issued warnings to teenagers still gathering late at night in the Kramat Jati area to return home immediately,” he said.

Following the apprehension, the youths were handed over to the Ciracas Police Sector for further investigation and legal processing.

Henik urged the public, particularly parents, to increase supervision of their children’s activities outside the home at night to anticipate juvenile delinquency.

He also requested that the community immediately contact the National Police Call Centre 110 if they become aware of or discover any potential threats to public security and order in their neighbourhood, so that officers can take prompt action.
