Police arrest drug trafficker

BANDUNG: Police have arrested a 30-year-old man suspected of being a major dealer of the designer drug Ecstasy in the city.

The suspect, whose identity was not disclosed, was caught selling the pills in a car repair shop, spokesman for the provincial police command Lt. Col. Istanto J. said yesterday.

Police hope the arrest will lead to information on the drug syndicate operating in Bandung and surrounding areas.

In a preliminary investigation, the suspect admitted to acting as a dealer in discotheques and night clubs over the past three months, Antara reported.

Police confiscated 185 Ecstasy pills from the man, Istanto said. (pan)
