Police Arrest Drug Dealer in West Jakarta, 18 Kg of Cannabis Seized
Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) arrested AG (39), a man found carrying cannabis in a minimarket car park in the Duri Kepa area of Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta. A total of 18 kilogrammes of cannabis was seized from the suspect.
Head of Unit 2, Sub-directorate 2 of the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate, Police Commissioner Tri, explained that AG was arrested following a report from residents who were suspicious of his activities. The arrest took place on Thursday (19 February) at 19:30 local time.
“On Thursday, 19 February 2026, our team from Unit II Sub-directorate II of the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate apprehended a suspect with the initials AG in the Puri area of West Jakarta, along with approximately 10 kilogrammes of evidence,” Tri told reporters on Saturday (21 February 2026).
Tri said that during questioning at the scene, AG admitted to storing additional cannabis elsewhere. The remaining cannabis was kept in an empty house in the Tanjung Duren Utara area.
“We followed up in the Tanjung Duren area of West Jakarta and recovered a further approximately 8 kilogrammes of cannabis. In total, 18 kilogrammes of cannabis were found in the possession of suspect AG,” Tri said.
He explained that the additional 8 kilogrammes of cannabis was found in a sack containing eight packages. Additionally, a cardboard box containing 829 grammes of cannabis was discovered, along with other evidence including scissors, a cutter, adhesive tape, and used plastic packaging.
“The suspect and all evidence have been taken to the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate office for further investigation,” he concluded.
