Police Arrest China's Most Wanted Fugitive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport

The Indonesian National Police’s NCB Interpol Secretariat has arrested a high-profile fugitive on Interpol Beijing’s most wanted list, Zheng Rongjing. Zheng is a major player in an international online scam syndicate. The arrest was made at Terminal 2 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Wednesday (24/6) at 23.50 WIB, after NCB Beijing requested on 5 March 2026 that NCB Jakarta track his whereabouts. Police, assisted by the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections and the Directorate General of Immigration, secured Zheng shortly after he landed. According to Interpol records, Zheng is a key figure in the network and allegedly operated from one of the largest scam compounds in Cambodia. Police are currently investigating his reasons for coming to Indonesia, suspecting that infrastructure or parties were already in place to facilitate his illegal activities. Zheng is being held at the Metro Jaya Regional Police for further questioning before being handed over to NCB Beijing. The police stated the arrest demonstrates their commitment to strengthening cross-border law enforcement cooperation and combating transnational organised crime networks that harm Indonesian society.
