The General Criminal Investigation Directorate of Jakarta Metropolitan Police arrested an online taxi driver identified as JF (57) for damaging a motorist’s vehicle on the JORR Toll Road in Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

“The suspect was apprehended by Unit 1 of the Mobile Criminal Investigation Unit (Resmob) of Jakarta Metropolitan Police at his residence in Ciputat, South Tangerang without resistance,” stated Deputy Director of Operations for Resmob, AKBP Resa Fiardi Marasabessy, in a statement on Sunday, 31 May 2026.

Resa explained that the case began with cyber patrols that discovered viral footage of an aggressive driver’s actions against another vehicle.

“After investigation, the victim, Peter Atindra Akbar, had formally filed a police report at Kebayoran Lama Police Station on Friday, 29 May,” he said.

Subsequently, Unit 1 of Resmob, led by AKBP Resa Fiardi Marasabessy and Sub-Unit 1 Commander Kompol Dimitri Mahendra Kartika, conducted a thorough investigation and IT analysis to profile the suspect’s whereabouts.

“Based on IT analysis, the team successfully identified the suspect’s profile and carried out the arrest at his home on Jalan Cimandiri Raya, Cipayung, Ciputat, on Friday, 29 May 2026 at around 15:30 WIB,” he added.

Resa stated that the incident occurred on Tuesday, 26 May 2026 at approximately 19:22 WIB. The victim was driving a Suzuki minibus on the JORR Toll Road after entering through Pondok Pinang Toll Gate.

The suspect, driving a Daihatsu Sigra with licence plate B-1557-WIM, attempted to overtake the victim’s vehicle from the left lane. Due to the narrow lane, the suspect’s vehicle brushed against the left side of the victim’s car.

The suspect then forced a pass on the right side and deliberately rammed into the right side of the victim’s vehicle before cutting in front and stopping in front of it.

“The suspect then got out of his vehicle and punched the victim’s right side mirror with his bare hands. Unsatisfied, he returned to his car to retrieve a wheel nut key and struck the mirror and right side body of the victim’s car three times, breaking the mirror,” Resa said.

The victim briefly exited to secure the broken mirror and recorded the suspect’s face and licence plate before the suspect fled the scene.
