The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police have arrested GF, one of the administrators of the TikTok account Lika-Liku NTT, in connection with alleged criminal offences under the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE).

GF was immediately named a suspect after police concluded that the individual had manipulated data and photographs and created narratives that did not correspond to the facts, which were then disseminated through social media.

Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the NTT Regional Police, Senior Commissioner FX Irwan Aryanto, said GF was arrested by personnel from Cyber Sub-Directorate 5 on Friday (21/8) at around 11.20 p.m. Central Indonesia Time at a rented house on Jalan Lining, Maulafa Sub-district, Maulafa District, Kupang City.

“The suspect’s act was as one of the administrators of the TikTok account Lika-Liku, where the administrator consciously and deliberately created and used the account with the intention of concealing the identity of the account user,” Irwan said during a press conference at the NTT Regional Police Headquarters on Sunday (23/8) afternoon.

The arrest was a follow-up to police report number LP/B/1574/2026/SPKT Polda NTT dated 27 April 2026. The complainant in the case was the Head of the Kupang District Prosecutor’s Office, Yupiter Selan.

After arresting GF, investigators also conducted a search at the suspect’s parents’ house in the BTN area. Police seized a number of items of evidence, including 10 printed bank statements, a Samsung Galaxy A30 mobile phone, a Samsung tablet and several SIM cards.

Irwan explained that, based on the investigation results, GF is suspected of using an anonymous account to conceal the user’s identity. The suspect allegedly obtained personal data of victims and witnesses, then took and manipulated that data.

Police also suspect that the suspect altered photographs so that they did not reflect the actual conditions, then created narratives deemed to be false stories and disseminated them through the TikTok account Lika-Liku NTT as well as several other accounts.

“In the process of creating content, investigators found the use of artificial intelligence technology, including the ChatGPT application, which was reportedly used to help process personal data, alter photographs and compose narratives,” he said.

According to FX Irwan Arianto, Cyber Sub-Directorate 5 has received 14 complaints related to alleged framing through the Lika-Liku NTT account. Of that number, only two cases have been elevated to the investigation stage.

A total of 14 public complaints have been received and followed up. For almost a year, investigators conducted profiling and cyber patrols to uncover the management of the account.

According to him, from these activities, police found that the account managers had obtained profits amounting to hundreds of millions of rupiah. “Hundreds of millions, Sir?” a journalist asked. “Around that much,” Irwan said when confirming the amount of money obtained.

GF has been charged with multiple articles, including Article 35 in conjunction with Article 51 paragraph (1) of the ITE Law and Article 45 paragraph (4) in conjunction with Article 27A of the ITE Law, as well as other criminal provisions based on the investigation results. “This is one administrator. There will be other administrators whom we will take action against later,” Irwan added.

Acting Head of Public Relations at the NTT Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Sajimin, said the case was a follow-up to reports concerning content disseminated through the account. The NTT Regional Police, Sajimin said, had carried out a series of professional inquiries and investigations.

The move is part of the police’s commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy and responsible digital space while providing legal certainty regarding alleged violations.
