Denpasar Police Department, alongside district police stations, uncovered 28 theft cases between April and May 2026. Authorities secured 34 suspects comprising 33 males and one female.

Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Leonardo D. Simatupang stated that the case resolution was achieved by the Rapid Response Unit, established specifically to reduce crime rates within the Denpasar Police Department’s jurisdiction.

“We deployed 90 personnel from the Criminal Investigation Unit and district police stations to carry out preventive measures and law enforcement against 4C cases,” he said.

The breakdown of solved cases includes 12 motorcycle theft (curanmor) cases with 17 seized motorcycles, six aggravated theft (curat) cases, one robbery with violence (curas) case, and nine ordinary theft cases.

In addition to seized stolen vehicles, police also confiscated various denominations of cash and suspects’ bank accounts.

Leonardo added that among the apprehended suspects, one is a repeat offender in motorcycle theft cases in West Denpasar.

Meanwhile, the 17 seized motorcycles will be returned to their rightful owners who can provide vehicle ownership documentation.

“We invite the public to collect their vehicles free of charge,” he stressed.

Denpasar Police Department also urged the public to actively report information via the emergency hotline 110 to expedite crime handling.
