Police Arrest 3 Teenagers Preparing for Street Brawl in Central Jakarta, 2 Sharp Weapons Seized

Police made the arrests during large-scale patrols deployed to anticipate public order disturbances across several high-risk areas of Central Jakarta on Sunday, 24 May 2026 in the early morning hours. Patrols targeted the Cempaka Putih Police Station area, the Bundaran HI district, and Kampung Tanah Tinggi.

“Officers secured two intoxicated teenagers in the Jalan Roxy area along with evidence including one bottle of liquor and one motorcycle,” said Dansat Brimob Metro Jaya Police Combes Henik Maryanto in a statement on Sunday, 24 May.

Patrols continued to Kampung Tanah Tinggi around 03.00 WIB. At that location, officers successfully apprehended three teenagers suspected of planning a street brawl, along with two sharp weapons and one motorcycle.

“The three teenagers were subsequently secured for further data collection and investigation by joint officers,” he explained.

Combes Henik stated that routine patrols during high-risk hours were conducted as a preventive measure to prevent criminal acts, street brawls, and other security disturbances that could cause public unrest.

“The presence of Brimob personnel in the field is expected to provide a sense of security to the public who are still active or resting during night and early morning hours,” he said.

Brimob Metro Jaya Police urged the public, particularly parents, to increase supervision of their children’s activities during nighttime to prevent involvement in street brawls and alcohol abuse.

“The public can also report potential security disturbances through the police service 110 so that officers can immediately follow up,” he concluded.
