Police moved swiftly to investigate a motorcycle convoy that damaged the portal and breached the Casablanca Non-Toll Elevated Road (JLNT) in South Jakarta. Eleven motorcyclists have now been apprehended.

“Eleven motorcycles from the dozens seen in the video have been successfully secured,” said Head of Law Enforcement Subdivision at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate, Senior Commissioner Ojo Ruslani, in a statement on Monday (23/2/2026).

Ojo did not elaborate further on the identities of the riders or the chronology of the arrests. They were apprehended in Jatinegara, East Jakarta; Petamburan, Central Jakarta; and Jagakarsa, Jakarta.

“There are 11 people we have secured, from Jagakarsa, Petamburan, some from Jatinegara — various locations,” he added.

They are currently being held at Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters for further examination.

“Tonight they are undergoing questioning,” he said.

The actions of a group of motorcyclists allegedly vandalising the portal of the Casablanca JLNT in South Jakarta went viral on social media. Jakarta Metropolitan Police are currently investigating the incident.

From posts circulating online, one motorcyclist can be seen burning the rope securing the JLNT Casablanca portal. Once the portal opened, the group of riders swarmed onto the elevated road.

“Time for people to enjoy showing off,” read the caption on the video.

The motorcyclists were seen wearing black hooded jackets with slogans such as ‘Youth Style’, ‘Confused’, and ‘Stressed’. Most of the group also had no number plates fitted to their vehicles.

The incident was reportedly carried out solely to create content. The motorcycle convoy rode along the road, with several riders visibly lacking number plates and not wearing helmets.

Motorcycles and other two-wheeled vehicles are prohibited from using the Casablanca JLNT. The elevated road is designated exclusively for four-wheeled vehicles or larger, with signage already in place to that effect.
