Police Anti-Corruption Unit Searches Multiple Sites Linked to Sugar Factory Graft
The Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipikor) of the Indonesian National Police conducted searches at several locations in connection with the investigation into an alleged corruption case at PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) XI. One of the sites raided was the office of PT Wijaya Karya in East Jakarta.
The search had been ongoing for approximately three hours and was still in progress. It was not yet known which rooms were the specific targets of the investigators.
Kortas Tipikor Police Head of Operations, Commissioner Ahmad Yusuf Afandi, stated that the search was carried out to seek additional evidence related to alleged corruption in the integrated engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) works for the development and modernisation of the Assembagoes Sugar Factory for the period 2016-2022.
‘The search conducted by the investigative team is part of the investigative effort to find and collect relevant evidence regarding the alleged corruption in the EPCC of PG Assembagoes being handled,’ Ahmad Yusuf said in a written statement on Tuesday (9/6/2026).
Yusuf noted that the results of this search will be further analysed. He guaranteed that the search was conducted professionally.
‘We ensure the entire process is carried out professionally, transparently, and accountably in accordance with the principles of corruption crime investigation which are juridical, procedural, technically professional, ethically proportional and non-interventionist,’ he said.
In addition to the Wika office, Kortas Tipikor Police investigators searched several other locations in East Java. These locations include the office of PT Multinas Tjahja Sejahtera in Surabaya, the residence of PT Multinas Indonesia President Director Tjahjadi Djajadibrata, and PT Barata Indonesia in Gresik.
