Police Anti-Corruption Unit Raids Customs Office at Juanda Airport, Sidoarjo

The Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) of the Indonesian National Police Headquarters conducted a search at the Type Madya Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC) Juanda on Jalan Raya Bandara Juanda, Sidoarjo, East Java, on Wednesday (24/6) afternoon. Observations at the location showed several uniformed police officers armed with long-barrelled weapons guarding the entrance to the KPPBC Juanda. Additionally, two officers were seen stationed near the lobby door. Head of Operations for Kortastipidkor Polri, Commissioner Ahmad Yusuf Afandi, confirmed that his team was carrying out a search at the KPPBC Juanda. “We will hold a press conference later regarding the search at the Juanda Customs and Excise Office,” Yusuf said at the location on Wednesday afternoon. According to information gathered, the search had been ongoing since 8:00 AM Western Indonesian Time. It is not yet known which case prompted the search or which rooms are being examined. The search was still in progress as of 3:00 PM Western Indonesian Time.
