Police and traffic

From Media Indonesia

First of all allow me to congratulate the Indonesian Police on their 56th anniversary on July 1 this year. The police have done a lot to fight crime and drug abuse although in the present reform era there are certain norms that seemingly have, in a way, restricted the room for the police to maneuver, while on the other hand, crime has become more sophisticated.

There is still one thing, though, that I would like to bring to the police's attention: traffic chaos. This, upon reflection, is the image of our government's management.

It is time for the police to take serious action to ensure that traffic users abide by traffic regulations. Otherwise, expatriates staying in our country will think that our discipline, as seen in the way we organize ourselves in traffic, is very low.
