Police and Military Coordinate to Uncover Case of Acid Attack on KontraS Activist

Police and Military Director of General Criminal Investigation Kombes Iman Imanuddin stated that they will coordinate with the TNI to pursue the perpetrators of the acid attack on Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS) Andrie Yunus. This was mentioned in relation to the differences in the initials of the suspects provided by Polri and TNI during their press conferences on Wednesday (18/3). “We from the Metro Jaya Police will collaborate with the TNI to integrate findings from the investigation and prosecution facts,” Iman said during a press conference at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters. According to him, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s instructions, the goal of handling the case jointly with the TNI is the same, namely to resolve the case clearly based on legal facts obtained from the investigation and prosecution processes conducted. “Because we are confident that if we all have a commitment to uncovering this case as clearly as possible. We all have the commitment, both TNI and Polri, as per the President’s instructions, to uncover this case transparently,” he explained. From the police’s own investigation results, two faces of the perpetrators have been detected through CCTV video analysis. The two are initialled BHC and MAK. “However, from our investigation results, we do not rule out the possibility that the perpetrators could be suspected to be more than four, as per the initial information we provided,” he clarified.
