National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has revealed that the relationship between the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) is solid in terms of service and law enforcement. Sigit stated there are plans for joint education for Polri and Kejagung investigators.

“Earlier, there was a plan to enhance the partnership programme, an exchange of education between prosecutors and the police, particularly investigators, so that every step of coordination, especially within the criminal justice system, can be improved,” Sigit said during a joint press conference with Attorney General ST Burhanuddin at the Kejagung building in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Monday (13/7/2026).

This educational cooperation between Polri and Kejagung investigators is also intended to provide a sense of justice for the public who require legal services. The National Police Chief emphasised that the relationship between Polri and the Kejagung is synergistic and collaborative.

“On one hand, the synergy and collaborative partnership between the two institutions, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police, is certainly expected by the public who need legal services, so that the law can truly be delivered to those in need, both in terms of legal certainty and justice,” he stated.

“What is clear is that the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police are one big family, and we will continue to maintain the solidity and synergy within this big family. That is what we will continue to implement together with the Attorney General for our future programmes,” Sigit affirmed.

Echoing Sigit, ST Burhanuddin stated that synergy between prosecutors and the police is also a legal necessity. For example, investigations conducted by the police will be followed up by prosecutors at the prosecution stage.

“Yes, I would like to add that this synergy is necessary because for me, for a prosecutor, a good investigation will result in a good prosecution. A good prosecution will result in a good verdict. It is our obligation, our necessity to synergise,” he said.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and key officials from the National Police Headquarters continued their visit to the Kejagung. The visit was made after the National Police Chief and his staff paid a courtesy call on Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto at the TNI Headquarters.

Earlier, General Sigit and key officials from the National Police Headquarters had first conducted a courtesy call at the TNI Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, at 1 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. The arrival of the National Police Chief was warmly welcomed by TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto and the service chiefs at the Gatot Subroto Hall.

Sigit conveyed that President Prabowo Subianto, on various occasions, has always stressed the importance of TNI-Polri solidity as a main pillar of national sovereignty. The visit was therefore conducted to strengthen the synergy between the two institutions.

“This is to follow up on what was ordered by the President, that the TNI-Polri are the main pillars safeguarding national sovereignty. We have an obligation to continuously ensure that the TNI-Polri remain solid,” said General Sigit.
