Police Affirm Pramuka Garuda Certificate Holders Must Still Take Entrance Test

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has affirmed that holders of the Pramuka Garuda certificate must still undergo testing and selection to become police officers. “Achievements proven by certificates or awards, whether national or international, including the Pramuka Garuda certificate, are supporting documents that participants can attach. However, possessing these documents does not mean a participant is automatically accepted without going through the selection process,” said Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday. Isir further stated that every prospective participant must meet the requirements and follow all stages of the selection process established by Polri. The recruitment of Polri members is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Polri Regulation Number 2 of 2026 concerning the Admission of Polri Members. He stated that Polri is committed to ensuring the member recruitment process is conducted objectively, transparently, and accountably, based on the participants’ abilities and competencies as stipulated. According to him, this commitment aligns with the BETAH philosophy, which serves as the principle in the Polri recruitment process: clean, transparent, accountable, and humane. Previously, the Chairman of the National Scout Movement Quarter, Budi Waseso, also known as Buwas, stated in Blitar, East Java, on 4 August 2026, that the Pramuka Garuda certificate could be used as a requirement to register for the TNI/Polri without testing.
