JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, has affirmed that the recruitment process for Cadets and Cadettes at the Police Academy (Akpol) does not recognise special quotas and is conducted through a single pathway, namely the regular route.

“The Akpol recruitment is only through the regular pathway. If there are parties offering or promising that the participant or their child can be accepted through a special quota, do not entertain it, I repeat, do not entertain it, just ignore it,” said Isir at Polri Headquarters on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

He also urged the public to report any instances of brokerage or fraud in the recruitment process promptly.

He stated that, in line with the directives of Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the integrated Polri recruitment for the 2026 fiscal year continues to prioritise the principles of cleanliness, transparency, accountability, and humanism.

“Clean means that the acceptance of prospective Polri members is carried out objectively, honestly, fairly, and most importantly, free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism,” said Isir.

“Transparent, the recruitment is conducted openly, involving various supervisory parties, both internal and external. Accountable, the process and results of Polri member acceptance can be held accountable,” he added.

A total of 7,988 people registered online, with 5,432 participants declared to have passed verification and eligible to proceed to the next selection stages.

He further explained that the recruitment of Akpol Cadets and Cadettes represents an investment in Polri’s human resources to produce future institutional leaders over the next 25 to 30 years.

“Therefore, the selection process must maintain its integrity and is only through one pathway, namely the regular route,” said Isir.

Additionally, he assured that Polri is continuously analysing and periodically evaluating the education curriculum at Akpol, which has been deemed too militaristic.

According to Isir, values of discipline and respect for hierarchy remain part of the education, but are not identical to military culture.

He emphasised that Polri is strengthening the civilian police culture that upholds human rights, humane communication, and values of justice in carrying out duties.
