Police Academy Admits Its Education is Inhumane, from 04.00 to 22.00 Without Rest
Jakarta - The Governor of the Police Academy (Akpol), Irjen Daniel Tahi Monang Silitonga, has admitted that the education undergone by Akpol cadets is indeed somewhat inhumane. This is because they are required to wake up at 04.00 in the morning and only finish their activities at 22.00, without any rest. “At Akpol, we are currently implementing improvements, particularly in perfecting the curriculum. If we pay attention and think about it, our current education is indeed somewhat inhumane. For example, they wake up at 4 a.m., pray, worship, and from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m., they carry out activities without any rest,” said Daniel at the Commission III DPR meeting, DPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (2/4/2026). However, he believes that if this system continues, Akpol cadets will not be able to concentrate. “Waking up from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m., even possibly longer,” he stated. After that, they then resume the learning process. “Therefore, just recently, in the near future, starting today, we have implemented at Akpol a lunch break. That is, we allocate 1 hour 15 minutes for them to take a nap. Before entering the next learning process,” added Daniel.
