Polda Metro Raids Drug Den in Kampung Ambon, Seizes Bongs and Alcohol

The Narcotics Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) conducted a preventive crime strike patrol in the Kampung Ambon area of West Jakarta. Police discovered a stall suspected of being used as a drug transaction site.

“This activity is a preventive measure to prevent and anticipate the potential abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics as well as security disturbances in the areas targeted by the patrol,” said Polda Metro Jaya Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, to reporters on Monday (31/8/2026).

The patrol was led by the Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate, Police Commissioner Indah Hartantiningrum, and involved 25 personnel. Police targeted several locations suspected of potentially being used as narcotics transaction sites.

From the patrol results, police found a stall suspected of being used as a narcotics transaction site. Police discovered used smoking devices or bongs, clip bags suspected of being used to package narcotics, lighters, and a price list for equipment rental suspected of being related to narcotics abuse.

Budi said police also found alcoholic beverages and several sharp weapons, including samurai swords and sickles, in the vicinity. The evidence has been secured at the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate building.

Budi stated that the patrol activity is a form of the National Police’s commitment to eradicating narcotics abuse and illicit trafficking. He emphasised that his party will continue to conduct patrols.

“The patrol is also carried out as a form of police presence in the community as well as an early detection measure against potential security disturbances,” he said.
