Polda Metro Jaya suspends SIM and BPKB services for Idul Adha 2026 holiday
The Traffic Police Directorate (Ditlantas) of Polda Metro Jaya has announced a temporary closure of Driving Licence (SIM) and Vehicle Ownership Certificate (BPKB) services in observance of the national holiday and combined leave for Idul Adha 1447 Hijriah.
According to official information from Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, the closure will take effect on the day of Idul Adha, Wednesday, 27 May 2026. All vehicle and driver administrative services will resume normal operations on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
The closure applies not only to the main service office but also to all service points within the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya.
Despite the closure, Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya has introduced a special dispensation for drivers whose SIMs expire on 27 May 2026. Affected individuals can renew their SIMs between 28 and 30 May 2026 through standard procedures, but the public is urged to utilise this dispensation period effectively.
If SIM holders fail to renew by the deadline of 30 May 2026, the dispensation will lapse, requiring them to apply for a new SIM, including retaking theory and practical tests as per regulations.
Polda Metro Jaya urges the public to plan their vehicle-related administrative tasks accordingly and to maintain road safety during the extended Idul Adha holiday.
Drivers are advised to check the validity of their documents to avoid delays that may necessitate the more time-consuming and costly process of obtaining a new SIM. (Ant/H-4)
