Polda Metro Jaya Provides Trauma Healing for Three Employees Held Captive in Central Jakarta
The Metro Jaya Regional Police have stated they will assist in the physical and mental recovery of three employees of the ‘Mau Print’ printing company in Central Jakarta who were victims of unlawful confinement. The police emphasised that the victims’ recovery is a priority.
‘In cases like this, the most important thing for the victims is their physical and mental health,’ said the Head of Medical and Health Affairs for Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Dr. Martinus Ginting, during a press conference at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, on Friday (3/7/2026).
Martinus stated that physical and mental recovery is necessary to facilitate the investigation process. He noted that the victims’ statements are crucial for a thorough inquiry. ‘If they still feel anxiety or fear, they might not be able to fully recover or express everything clearly. So, we are focusing on improving their physical state and addressing their anxiety disorders first,’ he said.
He confirmed that doctors have examined the victims and their condition is improving. ‘After conducting standard general examinations on the three patients—checking their consciousness, blood pressure, breathing, and temperature—we found during the last check yesterday afternoon at 2 p.m. Western Indonesia Time that they are in good condition,’ he stated.
The Head of the Psychology Division at Metro Jaya Police’s Human Resources Bureau, AKBP Ida Bagus Gede Adi Putra, mentioned that psychological support is being provided to the victims. He noted that the victims’ social functioning is in fairly good condition. ‘Based on the initial assessment results, we can generally convey that the victims’ social functioning, meaning their ability to carry out daily life, is in a fairly good condition,’ said Ida Bagus.
He explained that the victims are able to respond to information and situations around them adequately, communicate, and express what they feel and hope for. However, he added that psychological support will continue. ‘These findings indicate that, in general, the victims still have the capacity to carry out basic social functions, although they still require post-incident psychological support,’ he said.
For context, investigators from the Central Jakarta Metro Police have named seven suspects in connection with the confinement of the ‘Mau Print’ printing company employees on Jalan Kalibaru Timur, Bungur Village, Senen District. The seven suspects are currently being detained. ‘The suspects have been detained at the Central Jakarta Metro Police detention centre,’ said Senior Commissioner Reynold.
The seven suspects are AI, S, AYL, and CML, who were detained on Saturday (27/6), and MML, NHJ, and II, who were detained on Sunday (28/6). The seven suspects are charged with extortion and threats and/or deprivation of liberty and coercion and/or assault under Article 482 and/or Article 466 and/or Article 471 of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
