Polda Metro Jaya prepares educational assistance for 25 out-of-school children

Polda Metro Jaya is coordinating with the DKI Jakarta Education Office and relevant stakeholders to help 25 out-of-school children who were identified during the handling of incidents around the DPR/MPR building regain access to education.

Director of General Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Iman Imannudin, said that fulfilling the rights and interests of children remains the police’s top priority at every stage of handling.

“Among the children who were taken into custody, there are 25 children who are no longer in school. We will coordinate with relevant parties to help them regain access to education,” Iman said at a press conference in Jakarta on Friday.

In addition to out-of-school children, assistance is also provided to children who are still active students.

This is carried out through an educational and guidance approach involving schools, teaching staff, and relevant agencies, according to each child’s needs.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stressed the importance of the role of families and the school environment in monitoring children’s social interactions and daily activities.

According to him, good two-way communication between parents and children is essential so that they are not easily influenced by invitations that could potentially place them in risky situations.

“Children must continue to have space to learn, grow, and prepare for their future. Therefore, fulfilling their rights, including the right to education, requires shared concern from families, schools, the government, and the community,” Budi said.
