Polda Metro Jaya: Physical and Mental Condition of Confinement Victims Improves
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Medical and Health Division (Biddokkes) of Polda Metro Jaya has confirmed that the physical and mental condition of three victims of confinement in Central Jakarta has gradually improved after receiving medical treatment. The Head of Biddokkes at Polda Metro Jaya, Police Commissioner Dr. Martinus Ginting, stated that the police have implemented a comprehensive standard operating procedure to handle victims of violence, whether they have suffered physical or verbal trauma. “For the handling of these three victims, Polda Metro Jaya has a standard procedure for victims of violence, both physical and verbal. Our team has moved and coordinated directly with investigators from the Polda Metro Jaya General Criminal Investigation Directorate,” he said during a press conference in Jakarta on Friday. He noted that the current main focus of treatment is to restore the victims’ physical health and address the anxiety disorders they are experiencing. Martinus mentioned that this is crucial so that the victims can provide complete statements to investigators without being overshadowed by fear. “We can imagine that when someone experiences trauma and pressure, it can trigger anxiety disorders. So, we must address that first so that when questioned by investigators, the victims can convey their accounts thoroughly,” he explained. Biddokkes stated that if the feelings of anxiety and fear have not fully subsided, the victims will not be able to recount the entire chronology of events accurately. Regarding their latest medical condition, Martinus revealed that the general health of the three victims has improved considerably. Although there were initial minor complaints such as dizziness and pain resulting from the trauma of the incident, these symptoms have been successfully managed with mild medication. Based on the latest standard examinations, which included checks on consciousness levels, blood pressure, respiration, and body temperature, the three patients have been declared to be in a stable and good condition. “The latest examination shows their condition is already good. We have also reported this progress to the leadership,” he said.
