The Polda Metro Jaya has held a readiness parade for the Regional Police Operation ‘Berantas Jaya 2026’, which is focused on reducing the crime rate of motor vehicle theft (curanmor). Deputy Chief of Polda Metro Jaya, Brigadier General Pol Dekananto Eko Purwono, explained that this regional operation will last for 15 days, from 4 to 18 July 2026. “Operation Berantas Jaya 2026 must be carried out seriously, in a directed, and measured manner. The targets that have been set must be pursued to the maximum, particularly in uncovering curanmor cases,” he said while leading the parade at the Polda Metro Jaya Parade Ground, Jakarta, on Friday. Dekananto detailed that Polda Metro Jaya is deploying 520 personnel for this operation. This number is a combination of 247 personnel from the Regional Operations Task Force (Satgasopsda) and 273 personnel from the Resort Operations Task Force (Satgasopsres). He added that the operation involves all levels, from the regional police down to the sector police, in an integrated manner. Daily evaluations and analyses will be continuously conducted to strengthen the uncovering of vehicle theft networks that often operate across jurisdictions. Through this operation, Polda Metro Jaya also urged the public to increase their vigilance in safeguarding personal assets. “Residents are expected to ensure their vehicles are properly locked, use additional security locks, and utilise the police 110 service if they observe any suspicious activity,” said Dekananto.
