Polda Metro Jaya Hosts Labour Dialogue to Welcome May Day
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya held a Labour Desk Dialogue event with trade unions to welcome May Day 2026. Kapolda Metro Jaya Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, conveyed that this dialogue serves as a forum to directly hear various problems faced by workers. According to him, the relationship between Polda Metro Jaya and workers has been good so far and is expected to grow stronger in the future. “We are conducting this dialogue to absorb workers’ aspirations directly. This good relationship must continue to be maintained and strengthened,” he said. Employment issues are also a shared responsibility that needs to be resolved collectively by all relevant parties. Asep stated that global developments must be a joint concern in viewing labour dynamics at the local level. “Global conditions certainly impact down to the local level, including the employment sector. Therefore, this needs to be carefully considered and anticipated together,” Asep said. “We are ready to act as facilitators and mediators so that relations between workers and entrepreneurs remain good, conducive, and mutually supportive,” he added. Through this dialogue, Asep hopes constructive and fair solutions can emerge, while creating a safe, healthy, and harmonious work environment. Asep also emphasised the importance of maintaining ties and strengthening cooperation between workers, entrepreneurs, and other relevant parties to create better conditions for workers. “Polda Metro Jaya is ready to assist if there are problems faced by workers,” he said.
