The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) has stated that investigators have not yet named any suspects in the investigation into alleged corruption, bribery, gratuities, and money laundering (TPPU) being handled jointly with the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor). Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, said that investigators are still examining evidence and witness statements before determining who is responsible. “We will announce the suspects in this case at a later stage. We are giving investigators the space to complete their duties comprehensively and thoroughly,” Budi said during a press conference at Polda Metro Jaya on Friday evening. He added that so far, investigators have examined 15 witnesses and conducted searches and seizures of evidence at several locations as part of the joint investigation process between Polda Metro Jaya and the Police’s Kortastipidkor. Regarding allegations of evidence being taken over, Budi stressed that all government ministries and non-ministerial agencies share the same commitment to supporting the eradication of corruption as a priority government programme. “We are confident that all ministries and agencies will support the fight against corruption. All parties will synergise and collaborate to resolve corruption cases,” Budi said. It is known that the joint team from Kortastipidkor and Polda Metro Jaya has searched 13 different locations in Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bogor as part of the investigation into alleged corruption and money laundering involving PT PLN (Persero), PT Asabri (Persero), and PT Krakatau Steel.
