Polda Metro Jaya has not received pre-trial summons from Roy Suryo
The Legal Division of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) has stated it has not yet received an official summons for the initial pre-trial hearing filed by suspect Roy Suryo at the South Jakarta District Court. The pre-trial motion challenges the search and arrest conducted by Polda Metro Jaya investigators.
‘We have not received the letter,’ said Polda Metro Jaya Head of Legal Affairs, Senior Commissioner Abrianto Pardede, in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. He nevertheless confirmed that the police are ready to participate in the legal process. The first hearing is reportedly scheduled for Monday, 29 June 2026. ‘Once the power of attorney’s letter is received, we will definitely attend,’ Abrianto stated.
Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma previously filed the pre-trial motion concerning the search and arrest by Polda Metro Jaya investigators. The case relates to alleged defamation and slander regarding the authenticity of the diploma of Indonesia’s seventh President, Joko Widodo. ‘It is confirmed that a pre-trial hearing is registered under the name of Roy Suryo,’ said South Jakarta District Court spokesperson Halida Rahardhini when contacted on Wednesday.
Roy Suryo’s legal counsel, Ahmad Khozinudin, also confirmed the pre-trial application pertains to the arrest and search processes. ‘Matters relating to the arrest process that occurred at his residence and the search are the objects of this pre-trial,’ Khozinudin explained. According to the South Jakarta District Court’s Case Tracking Information System, Roy Suryo’s pre-trial is registered under number 99/Pid.Pra/2026/ON.JKT.SEL, dated 22 June 2026.
